Mess-Paint your feelings
Everything kind of sucks right now. It's dark all the time, it's January, it's cold, and yet somehow everything is still so loud. You haven't even recovered from the holidays, but everyone wants more and the pressure to "Start the new year right" is weirdly aggressive, you don't want to put on real pants, because winter feels endless, but you still have to get up, get dressed, show up, hold it together, and not scream in the grocery store. You know that binge drinking isn’t the answer and disappearing into your bed for a full day doesn’t actually fix anything either.
So I thought I'd offer space for something else.
Mess is a women-centered paint night built around getting that pressure out in a way that’s physical and creative. We’ll work with paint using our hands, not brushes. There’s no lesson, no skill building, and no expectation to make anything worth keeping. The point is the act of doing it.
You don’t have to talk. You CAN if you want to, but you don't have to. You don’t have to explain anything, or be in a good mood or a productive headspace. You just show up, put your hands in paint, and let some of it move out of your body and onto the paper. Like a rage room through fingerpaint.
I’ll open the space, set the tone, talk for 5 minutes about the process and then stay out of the way. We will have a woman focused playlist, but feel free to bring your headphones if you need quiet or want to play your own music.
This isn’t guided healing and it’s not performative. It’s an evening to let it out.All supplies are provided. Wear clothes you don’t care about.
*Pricing is set to be accessible for people, while still covering supplies, time and studio clean up (I suspect this is going to be REALLY necessary afterwards)
There will be a donation jar if you'd like to give more or cover the cost for someone else to attend in the future.
If the cost is prohibitive, but you need this, message me for a free ticket.
Jan 30th 7pm-?
